Meet Xiaosa – he was a stray pup who joined a Chinese cycle race after being fed by one of the competitors. He went on to run 60 km a day and climbed 12 mountains with his new pack.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is why I love dogs. They’re loyal, determined and brilliant. I suspect that my Hagrid would have issues with the kind of pace that Xiaosa was running at.

My dog, while loyal, would abandon me in that situation at the very first sign of something soft to lay on.
If that dog’s story ever gets made into a ‘movie of the week’ I will likely cry watching it. Animal stories just get to me.
Yep – young Hagrid would likely decide that a better use of his time in that situation would be to chase small felines or truculent Spaniels – to heck with this road racing malarkey!
